Greetings to all our friends at Kafuro Primary School. Today was our annual Harvest Festival at our local church, St Mary’s. The theme for this year’s harvest festival was sustainable harvests and each class came up with a different theme: Water, forestry, fish, apples, sustainability, farmers’ market, sunshine, allotments and wind power. Each presentation showcased the children’s knowledge and entertained a church packed full of the children’s families. There were also harvest songs and the Rev. Chris Williams said prayers to bless the harvest.
Because this year’s theme was a sustainable harvest, donations were made towards helping Kafuro Primary School become a solar school. The target is £1000 or approximately 5,000,000UGX . Due to the generous donations from families added to the money raised by selling icepops on the playground, we are now over halfway to reaching the target and (at current exchange rates) close to 3,000,000UGX. We can’t wait to see solar panels on the roof of our twinned school as well.
Many thanks to all our families for their support and generosity
