Banded Mongoose Day at Liss

On Thursday we were visited by Jenni Sanderson who told the children all about Billy the Banded Mongoose. Jenni has just come back from Uganda where she visited Twinning Project Schools including Kafuro, Katunguru and Bukorwe. Children in schools in the UK and Uganda have been learning all about how Billy and his friends cooperate to ensure they survive in what can be a dangerous environment.

The children undertook some drama activities where they had to cooperate to protect themselves against such animals as a leopard and did some written work where they followed up on the theme of cooperation by thinking about how other animals cooperate. All the children and teachers would like to thank Jenni for such a wonderful day and we look forward to doing some follow up work with our friends in Kafuro.
