After the Walk to Uganda event at school on Friday, Mrs Green and Mr Stanley took a group of children to Queen Elizabeth Country Park on Saturday for the main Walk to Uganda event run by the Queen Elizabeth Parks Twinning Project. The challenge was to walk a five mile route answering quiz questions along the way. At the end of the route there were stalls, the opportunity to handle some animals and a display of the work taking place at Twinning Project schools. Artwork from Liss children was also on display as part of the Walk to Uganda art competition.
Fortunately the rain stayed away for all but the first fifteen minutes and the children picked up certificates for successfully finishing the walk. Congratulations to all the children for walking the course and answering the majority of the questions. Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Boyle and Mrs Dobbin for accompanying the group.
