All Ugandan schools reopened for third term last last week on Monday.
At our school, Kafuro Primary School, students turned in less numbers as it was Local Council elections. One chairperson at the school is in the ruling party National Resistance Movement lead by Yoweri Museveni, the current President of Uganda.
Our school is the polling station for the community due to the fantastic compound. Some parents mentioned that without even seats one is able to sit on the beautiful conserved grass.
The school children were happy to come back to school as they are eager to be promoted from one class to another by the end of the year. Primary Seven will be sitting their final examinations on 2nd and 3rd November meaning those who perform better and have funds to take them to another level will go to secondary and other have to stop at that level and go to the village and work.
Children prepared all their classes on Tuesday and serious work began. Cleaning the compound followed on the Friday of the same week as the compound was not too busy as it has been a dry season since July.
