Traditions of England – Breakfast!

We have began our new topic this week. We are learning about Europe. Our learning journey will be taking us through some of the different countries of Europe, finding out facts and traditions about the country as we go. This week we began our journey in Great Britain. We found out about the 4 countries of Great Britain, what their flags looked like and how they are represented in the Union Jack. When we were thinking about traditional foods of Great Britain, we found out that cooked breakfast is a traditional food in England. So we made one! After some discussion, we agreed that the following foods make up a traditional English breakfast;

Eggs, bacon, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages, fried bread.  Would you agree with our list? What would you cook in an English breakfast?

Here are some photos of us busy in the kitchen, filling the school with smells of bacon, making everyone very hungry!
